Spring Break is a nine-day study tour of the European community or other countries. Class meetings are conducted on Tuesday nights before the trip. Since it is offered for college credit, readings, papers, and journals are required. It is available for non-credit participants, too.
This program was originally designed for Mississippi College students, faculty, staff , alumni and friends for a brief experience in significant countries in the UK and in Europe. Now, the program is expanding to other parts of the world.
The program was introduced in 1990 by Dr. Edward McMillan as tour director and has completed over fifteen very successful tours. Over 500 individuals have participated in the the trips beginning in 1990.
SPRING BREAK TRIP 2013 - Australia
March 7 - March 16
The Spring Break 2013 trip to Australia begins with departure on Thursday, March 7 from Jackson. We connect in Dallas, then off to Australia! We begin our journey in the tropical city of Cairns, home of the Great Barrier Reef and world famous zoos. We spend three nights in Cairns, touring the city, the Esplanade waterfront shopping district, and enjoying a full day in Kuranda. In addition, we have a complete full day at leisure to explore the Reef or other tropical excursion like a hot air balloon ride overlooking the Bush or jungle zipline tour! From Cairns, we go south to the world famous, Sydney. We spend four nights in the heart of Sydney. We will tour the panoramic sights of this harbor cityand take a private visit to the Opera House. We will enjoy a full day excursion to the Blue Mountains, a short ride outside of Sydney, and return on a river cruise back to Sydney, passing the Opera house and Harbour Bridge. In addition, we have a full day at leisure to enjoy Sydney to shop, to surf, or just absorb the city! We return home from the experience on Saturday, March 16, flying from Sydney to Dallas, then on to Jackson.

What is the price of the trip?
The price is $3940.00 per person with optional excursions on free/leisure day(not included) The deposit is $350 and is non-refundable and payable to Continuing Education at MC.
The payment schedule is listed on the online brochure and all other monies are paid directly to “Aspire Down Under”, branch office in New York. (This information will be sent once deposit has been paid to MC)
The registration form for the trip is on the brochure and should be submitted to Continuing Education.
Are scholarships available?
Scholarships of $250 are available to participants who take the designated courses for the trip Scholarship applications are available on the spring break webpage or from Dr. Beth Stapleton Scholarships will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
The scholarship money goes directly toward the cost of the trip.
