The McMillan Center for Education Abroad (The Mac Center) is the base of operations for students seeking opportunities for study, internships, and service abroad for an entire year, semester, summer or a shorter-term.

The Mac Center was launched by Dr. Blake Thompson in 2019 in honor of MC Professor Edward McMillan '50.  Dr. McMillan established MC's original London Semester Abroad--the longest running program in MC's portfolio. Dr. Beth Stapleton '92, chair of the MC international studies committee and professor of Spanish and linguistics served as the founding director and continues to serve as the center's faculty advisor and director of the Spain program.  MC alumnus Stacey Norris Hight '90 serves as the current director.

The Spring 2019 Beacon magazine stated:  "Many students find that studying abroad challenges and strengthens their Christian faith. Study abroad opens a new door to communicating with people of different backgrounds and faiths. “My father instilled in me a recognition of the value of visiting other places,” says Dale McMillan, the son of the late Edward McMillan. “My life has been changed by the people, cultures, history, and even the geology of the land, all of which confirm God’s magnificence, design, and grace, in my life and to others.”
