Undergraduate Admissions
International Admissions
International students are invited to apply for admission to Mississippi College by submitting a completed
admission application to the International Student Office. Questions regarding
admission should be directed to the International Student Office at 601-925-7635, or fax 601-925-3950, or
email brackenr@mc.edu.
Requirements for admission are as follows:
- A fully completed admission application form. Completed applications should be returned to the Office of Enrollment Services by August 15 for the fall term, between September 15 and January 1 for the spring term, and two weeks prior to registration for each summer term. Early application is encouraged because decisions regarding admission are made on a rolling basis as applications are received.
- A non-refundable application fee of $50. (U.S.D.)
- English Requirements -- Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Provide an official score of at least 550 on the paper-based Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam, or 213 on the computer-based exam for undergraduate admission OR for graduate admission, 550 on the paper-based exam or 213 on the computer-based exam.
- Transfer from a regionally accredited American college a minimum of 24 hours of academic credit with a GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 point scale.
- A financial statement indicating ability to finance study during the entire stay at Mississippi College with a notarized sponsor statement. Please contact the International Student Office to determine the current amount required.
- Transcripts of all high school and college grades with literal translations into English. Students attempting to transfer credits received in secondary degrees or courses completed at universities outside the United States must send official transcripts to an MC recognized evaluation service. The student must pay for the evaluation.
- Students will be required to purchase health insurance each year through the University if they do not have proof of adequate coverage. The policy must provide medical, medical evacuation, and repatriation coverage with Mississippi College as the trustee beneficiary.
- A medical history form, with proof of immunizations, completed and signed by a physician and a residence hall form for all students seeking MC housing.
- An international student who holds and F-1 student visa is required to carry a full course of study in the fall and spring semesters. A full-time undergraduate course load is twelve credit hours; a graduate course load is nine hours. Mississippi College will issue an I-20 form when all requirements for admission have been met.
- All tuition and fees are expected to be paid at the time of registration. Installment payment privileges are not available.
