The goal of Human Gross Anatomy (Biology 410/5410) is to cover in detail human
anatomy.  The approach to the course is regional.  In other words, each region
of the body is studied in detail integrating organs, skeletal, musculature,
vascularture, lymphatic and nervous systems. This is the approach used in
Medical School gross anatomy.  The course starts with the upper extremity
(arm) and back,  progresses through the thorax, abdomen, perineum and lower
extermity (leg), and neck.  The course finishes with head anatomy. Students will learn how to identify anatomical structures on human X-rays, CT scans and MRI’s. Interactive gross anatomy
and radiological software will also be utilized. We have an extensive set of
detailed human anatomy models, which students use to achieve an understanding
of spatial relationship of various systems, e.g., muscular, nervous etc.
