Welcome to
the Mississippi College Department of Foreign Languages!
The purpose of
foreign language study is to acquaint students with a culture, a language
and a literature other than their own.
In keeping with the
basic philosophy of the Department of Foreign Languages, the basic goals of
the Department are:
- to acquaint non-language majors with a
culture, language and literature other than their own;
- to provide language majors with the skills
and knowledge necessary for effective communication in the foreign
language;
- and to provide adequate
training for those who plan to continue their language study in
graduate school and for those who plan to enter professional fields
that require a mastery of a foreign language.
