RESERVES
Using a course reserve form, faculty members may place books, journal articles, or other printed materials on reserve in order to provide short-term circulation of required reading assignments. The loan period is set by the faculty member. Although the loan period may vary from two hours to one week, the most common period is for two-hour, in-library use only. Course reserves are located at the Periodicals/Reserves Desk. A current University ID card must be presented when borrowing reserves. All reserve materials must be returned to the desk from which they were borrowed. To encourage prompt return of materials and insure maximum availability to class members, reserve fines are higher than fines for other materials. For additional information contact Vicki Derrick by e-mail or call 925.3431.
Reserve materials may be searched in MICAL by either the professor's name or the course name. Call the Periodicals/Reserves Desk at 925.3431 for further information.
For each book which is not returned, the borrower will be charged the applicable fine and the greater of $50 or the current replacement cost. For each journal issue which is not returned, the borrower will be charged the applicable fine and the current replacement cost.
