Biological Abstracts, produced by BIOSIS, is a complete collection of bibliographic references to life science journal literature published internationally. This database provides users with easy access to information published in virtually every life science discipline dating back to 1995. Links to many full text articles.
Oxford Reference Online Premium (Oxford Press)
Provides easily searchable, full text access to reference titles.

General or Related Databases
Academic Search Premier (Available through Ebscohost)
Multidisciplinary database offering indexing and abstracting and many full text articles.  Dates of coverage vary according to individual titles.

First Search (see Reference Librarian to access.)
Offers access to a number of general and subject specific databases.  A Reference Librarian can help determine the need to use FirstSearch and provide training and authorization for searches.

Dmoz Open Directory Project: Biology
A collection of biology internet resources for all interests.
INTUTE: Health and Life Sciences  (formally BIOME)
A searchable catalog of annotated links relating to the health and life sciences.  Gateways
within INTUTE include OMNI covering medical and health sciences, AgriFor which provides a guide to agriculture, forstery and food, VetGate for animal health and veterinary science, and BioResearch for microbiology, molecular biology, and genetics.  Natural Selection, organized by the Natural History Museum, provides access to resources relating to the natural world.

National Library for the Environment (HLE)
Focuses on environmental policy issues and links to other web sites about laws, treaties, education, and more.

Entomology
Entomology Resources on the Internet
Steenbock Memorial Library, University of Wisconsin, Madison, links to internet resources for entomology.      
Insecta.  BiologyBrowser

Links to Web sites of "educational, scientific and academic interest" in entomology. Subject coverage includes natural biology, systematics and taxonomy, pest management and biocontrol, and more. Other information is included, such as lists of entomological societies and image archives.
Insecta.  Tree of Life
The Tree of Life Web Project is intended to be used by "those interested in locating information about a particular group of organisms, by biologists seeking identification keys, figures, phylogenetic trees, and other systematic information for a group of organisms, and by educators teaching about organismal diversity." Originally designed for biologists, the project is now also including information of interest to non-biologists, such as middle and high school students. The site includes links to other entomology Web sites.
