American Religion Data Archive (ARDA) is a project funded by the Lilly
Endowment, Inc. and acts to preserve quantitative data on American religion,
to improve access to this data, to increase the use of the data, and to
allow comparisons across data files. The ARDA collection includes data on
churches and church membership, religious professionals, and religious
groups (individuals, congregations and denominations).”

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance –
The online
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance provides access to a database of all
available Federal assistance programs. Includes information on grant
writing and writing proposals.
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives –
sponsored by the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this site provides information
on available grant opportunities and the application process.
Foundation Center – provides information on private
philanthropy in the United States. Includes tutorials on grant writing and
proposal budgeting, and provides online access to the Philanthropy News
Digest. Some fee-based services are included.
Grants.gov – sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services, grants.gov provides “a simple, unified storefront for
interactions between grant applicants and the Federal agencies that manage
grant funds. Includes a search engine to find grant applications, a
notification service for new grants, and online applications.
Guidestar – basic information on more than one million
non profit organizations. Provides information on an organization’s
mission, programs, leadership, financial information and IRS Form 990.
Registration is necessary to obtain IRS info, but is free.

Non-Profit Guides: Grant Writing Tools for Non-Profit Organizations –
Non-profit guides are free web-based grant-writing resources
for non-profit organizations, charitable, educational, public organizations,
and other community-minded groups.

to public and private non profit elementary and secondary schools and school
districts in the United States. Also includes tips on grant writing and a
biweekly newsletter.
