Large sociology research database that includes coverage of all related subject areas such as abortion, anthropology, criminology, criminal justice, cultural sociology, demography, economic development, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, politics, religion, rural sociology, social psychology, social structure, social work, sociological theory, sociology of education, substance abuse, urban studies, violence, welfare, and others. This database has full text journal entries that date back to 1895 as well as books, monographs, and conference papers.

(Available through Ebscohost)  Multidisciplinary database offering indexing and abstracting and many full text articles.  Dates of coverage vary according to individual title.
Academic Universe
(Available through Lexis Nexis)  Multidisciplinary database with full text articles.  Sources in LEXIS‑ Nexis Academic include newspapers, general magazines and journals, medical information, news transcripts, federal and state legal codes and information, business information, corporate profiles, SEC documents, and country profiles.  Medical information includes full text articles from journals, and abstracts from MEDLINE, the National Library of Medicine database.  Dates of coverage vary according to title.
America: History & Life
(Available through ABC-CLIO)   America: History and Life (AHL) is a complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. The database is useful to history students as well as disciplines such as sociology, Christian studies, and political science.
JSTOR (Journal Storage Project)
Multidisciplinary database that provides full text articles from scholarly journals.  Coverage is archival, usually beginning with each journal’s first date of issue.  The most recent 3-5 years are usually not included.
Project Muse
Multidisciplinary database that offers access to full text articles from a number of scholarly journals.  Coverage usually includes the most current 5 years of the publication.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance The online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance provides access to a database of all available Federal assistance programs.  Includes information on grant writing and writing proposals.
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this site provides information on available grant opportunities and the application process.
Foundation Center
provides information on private philanthropy in the United States.  Includes tutorials on grant writing and proposal budgeting, and provides online access to the Philanthropy News Digest.  Some fee-based services are included.
Grants.gov
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, grants.gov provides “a simple, unified storefront for interactions between grant applicants and the Federal agencies that manage grant funds.  Includes a search engine to find grant applications, a notification service for new grants, and online applications.
Guidestar
basic information on more than one million non profit organizations.  Provides information on an organization’s mission, programs, leadership, financial information and IRS Form 990.  Registration is necessary to obtain IRS info, but is free.
