Agency Description: They serve youth ages 6-18 years old. They provide homework help, opportunities to participate in sports activities, arts and craft lessons, dance, choir and drama team.  The teach health and life skills and character and leadership development. The Boys and Girls clubs of Jackson are safe fun places for young people to play, study, or just hang out.  It is "the Positive Place for Kids".  The Boys and Girls Clubs strive to "ensure and enhance the quality of life for youth with special concern for the disadvantaged".  The clubs rely on volunteer support to manage the children in any number of activities.

Volunteer Description:
Volunteers may choose to assist in one of five programs; Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports & Fitness.  Specifically, volunteers will provide tutoring and homework help, music lessons, monitor game rooms and playgrounds, and help procure resources for the clubs.
Volunteers will be screened by the Director of the unit in which they serve.  An ability to work well with children in group settings is a plus.
