ARTWORK

Dr. Gore's art work is diverse in medium and style, originating in a disciplined three year professional art school background followed by both masters and doctoral programs emphasizing the more avant-garde approaches to art form and expression. Within his work is seen a commitment to spiritual truths and moral values of his past; the concept of the family, democracy, and the Christian belief in a Divine Creator. It is his intent to strive toward mastery in his field of work while communicating in an unobscured manner, that which is most positive, uplifting, and reassuring.

His most recent works have been commissions for sculptures, one of them being Christ the Healer which was placed in the foyer of the Missippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

The Reservist, Mary with the Christ Child, and The Williams Boys are also some more recent sculpture works and commissions. He is also still teaching sculpture at Mississippi College.

One of his more recent endeavors is a sculpture of Jesus and the Children for First Baptist Church in Clinton, MS. It will be a sculpture funded by donations and will be placed in the atrium for kids to view and enjoy by sitting on Jesus's lap. He is passionate about this project because it is his way of giving to the children.
