Mississippi College X-ray Diffraction Facility

Established in 2006 with the aid of grants from the W. M. Keck Foundation, the National Science Foundation (MRI-0618148),
and resources from the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry alumni at Mississippi College, this facility serves the single
crystal structure determination needs of a group of senior associate chemists in the mid-South, and other researchers.

Equipment: The core facility is an Oxford Diffraction Gemini S single-crystal x-ray diffraction system.  It uses kappa-axis
geometry, charge-coupled area detection, low-temperature capability (down to 100K), and copper and molybdenum sources.

For information on sample submission, remote operation, and special projects contact Dr. Edward J. Valente

Visit the Facility's Structure Gallery (p2, p1
Use the RASMOL program, or any other that recognizes .pdb (Protein Data Base) files, and view recent structures completed at the facility.
