Mississippi College X-ray
Diffraction Facility
Established in 2006 with the aid of grants from the W. M. Keck
Foundation, the National Science Foundation (MRI-0618148),
and resources from the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry
alumni at Mississippi
College, this facility serves the single
crystal structure determination needs of a group of senior associate
chemists in the
mid-South, and other researchers.
Equipment: The core facility is an Oxford Diffraction Gemini S
single-crystal x-ray diffraction system. It uses kappa-axis
geometry, charge-coupled area detection, low-temperature capability
(down to 100K), and copper and molybdenum sources.
For information on sample submission, remote operation, and special
projects contact Dr. Edward J. Valente
at (valente *at* mc *dot* edu).
Visit the Facility's Structure
Gallery (p2, p1)
Use the RASMOL program,
or any other that recognizes .pdb (Protein Data Base) files, and view
recent structures completed at the facility.
