Health Services: Mississippi College

In conjunction with Mississippi Baptist Health Systems, Mississippi College provides students with exceptional healthcare and a state-of-the-art workout facility at the Mississippi Baptist Healthplex. All students who have paid the fixed fee are eligible for these benefits and services.

Healthcare

Primary routine health care services from the Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and Baptist Health Systems Clinic are provided free of charge to currently registered Mississippi College students who have paid the fixed fee. No appointment is necessary to see the Nurse Practitioner; however, please note the hours of operation listed below. There are charges for lab work, x-rays, injections and other additional services and supplies that may be billed to the student and/or the student's insurance carriers. Mississippi College does not provide supplemental insurance policies for students. To assist with the cost of health services, it is recommended that students be retained on the parent's or spouse's insurance policy whenever possible.

Health care is available at additional times through the Baptist Health Systems Clinic or through the Baptist Health Care Line telephone referral at 601-948-6262. Students living in residence halls should consult their Resident Assistants for assistance with care before 8:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends. Because of the existing relationship between Mississippi College and Baptist Health Systems, it is recommended that emergency care be handled through Mississippi Baptist Medical Center Emergency Room.

Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Mississippi Baptist Healthplex

The spectacular Baptist Healthplex on campus is a state-of-the-art fitness center housing the latest exercise equipment; squash, racquetball, and basketball courts; indoor running track; therapy pool; whirlpools; a 32-foot climbing wall; and more.
