Skills, knowledge needed for this field:

• Use active listening and active learning skills
• Possess thorough knowledge of the theory and techniques required to compose, produce and perform works of music
• Ability to perform for and work directly with the public
• Develop working relationships with others and maintain them over time

Develop your resume:

• Perform in your church choir, for local events and weddings
• Join one or more of the many ensembles at MC, including Singers, Vocal Jazz, Symphonic Band, Opera or Musical Theatre
• Become an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia or be an ambassador for the Music Department
• Create demo tapes to pass around to potential employers and fans
