All participants in the commencement exercises must wear academic regalia. The rental price of the graduation regalia (cap, gown, and hood) is included in your graduation fee. The sizes for your regalia are determined by the measurements you provided on your degree application, but if you have any questions about your measurements, stop by the Registrar's Office.
Undergraduate and Graduate Students: You may pick up your cap and gown in Moody Adams Field House in the area between the Coliseum and the football stadium on the Clinton campus. Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up on Thursday, July 31, or Friday, August 1, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Law School students will pick up their caps and gowns at the Law School during regular business hours on July 31 or August 1.
Black is the color of the cap and gown, so dark clothes and shoes are suggested. Latin honor stoles, distributed to eligible candidates by the Registrar's Office at the time of commencement, are the ONLY appropriate accessories to the graduation regalia. Please avoid wearing any of the following items: honor program cords, items associated with academic organizations or other groups, necklaces or other jewelry on top of the gown, corsages, flower garlands, etc.
Caps and gowns must be turned in immediately following the exercise. You will keep your tassel and stole. Pictures in academic regalia with family, friends, and departmental faculty must be made prior to line-up. If you have any questions, please contact Missa Turman at 601.925.3341.
August 2014 graduates must clear your accounts in the Business Office by Friday, July 25, 2014. You will not be able to receive your diploma or pick up your cap and gown unless you have cleared your student accounts in the Business Office and in the Library.
