Mississippi College

All participants in the commencement exercises must wear academic regalia.  The rental price of the graduation regalia (cap, gown, and hood) is included in your graduation fee.  The sizes for your regalia are determined by the measurements you provided on your degree application, but if you have any questions about your measurements, stop by the Registrar's Office.

Nursing, Undergraduate, and Graduate Students:  You may pick up your cap and gown in Moody Adams Field House in the area between the Coliseum and the football stadium on the Clinton campus. Dates and times for May 2015 will be posted here when available.

Law School students will pick up their caps and gowns at the Law School at the dates/times designated by the MC School of Law.

Black is the color of the cap and gown, so dark clothes and shoes are suggested. Latin honor stoles, distributed to eligible undergraduate candidates by the Registrar's Office at the time of commencement, are the ONLY appropriate accessories to the graduation regalia.  Please avoid wearing any of the following items:  honor program cords, items associated with academic organizations or other groups, necklaces or other jewelry on top of the gown, corsages, flower garlands, etc.

Caps and gowns must be turned in immediately following the exercise.  You will keep your tassel and stole.  Pictures in academic regalia with family, friends, and departmental faculty must be made prior to line-up.   If you have any questions, please contact Missa Turman at 601.925.3341.

May 2015 graduates must clear your accounts in the Business Office by Wednesday, May 6, 2015.  You will not be able to receive your diploma or pick up your cap and gown unless you have cleared your student accounts in the Business Office and in the Library.  If you clear your account after the deadline, you must bring a written receipt and release from the Business Office in order to be able to pick up your cap and gown.

This semester, students will have an opportunity to have posed cap and gown portraits taken at the Moody Adams Field House Thursday afternoon, December 18, and Friday, December 19, during cap and gown pick-up hours.  This opportunity is available not only to those students  participating in the commencement exercise, but to ALL students who will be receiving degrees in December 2014. This is a FREE sitting with no obligation to purchase the image.

Candid Campus Photography will set up an on-site studio with lights, cameras, and backdrops in a classroom in the Field House.  Students should NOT unpack their commencement regalia for the portrait. Candid Campus will provide the appropriate cap, gown, shirt and tie, and any other necessary regalia for each student to have a portrait made.

Students should come to the portrait sitting with faces shaved or beards trimmed, hair styled, and make-up applied so they will be prepared for their photograph.  No appointment is necessary as photographs will be taken on a first come, first served basis and each portrait session is very brief.

About a week after graduation, Candid Campus Photography will provide students with complimentary color proofs.  Students, and their family and friends, can view the proofs online and make any desired purchases at that time.  For further information, please visit the company’s website (www.candidcampusphoto.com) or call 1-800-233-3686.
