Memorial/Flower
Fund
Purpose:
- To
honor the passing of a Faculty member.
- To
honor the passing of a Faculty member's immediate family member.
- To
rejoice with a Faculty member in the birth of a child.
- To
encourage Faculty members during extended hospital stays.
Procedures:
- On
the death of a full-time or retired Faculty member, the Faculty
Club will send an appropriate floral arrangement.
- On
the death of an immediate family member of a faculty member,
the Faculty Club will send an appropriate floral arrangement.
- On
the birth of a child to faculty member, a small gift will be
sent. The gift will be delivered within one week after the
Faculty Club has been notified of the birth. (Approximate expenditure=$15.00)
- For
faculty members who are experiencing a hospital stay of more
than one night, a small gift will be sent. If possible, the
gift will be delivered during the actual hospital stay. If
not, the gift will be delivered within one week after the Faculty
Club has been notified of the illness. (Approximate expenditure=$15.00)
Contact Person:
A member of the Faculty Club will be designated as the "Flower Fund Coordinator".
This person will be responsible for purchasing and arranging delivery of the
gifts in the case of birth or illness and in the selection of an appropriate
memorial in the case of a death. The coordinator will work with the Treasurer
in making payment for the items.
Notification:
Members of the general Faculty are encouraged to help notify the Flower Fund
Coordinator if any of these situations occur. Department chairs are especially
encouraged to keep the coordinator apprised.
