Edward Dacus


About Me

Edward Dacus has performed numerous character roles with several regional operas companies, and has worked with some of the country’s most distinguished conductors, stage directors, and coaches, including Martina Arroyo, Linda Brovsky,  Nico Castel, Anton Coppola, Arthur Fagen, Robert Grayson, Cal Kellogg, Anthony Laciura, Kyle Swan, Giorgio Tozzi, and Andrea Velis.  His degrees include a Doctor of Music Arts from Louisiana State University, a Master of Music from the University of Mississippi, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is currently Interim Artistic Director and Chorusmaster of the Mississippi Opera, and is Organist/Choirsmaster at the Episcopal Church of the Creator, Clinton, Mississippi.

Dacus is coordinator of graduate studies in the department of music, and coordinator of music history studies.  He is married to mezzo-soprano Viola Dacus, and they have two children, Emily Katherine and Jonathan.
