About Me
I am a native of Kentucky. After attending elementary and high school in Louisville, Kentucky, I enrolled in Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. Of course, I was a chemistry major and also was an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. While taking chemistry courses I met my future wife, Barbara Dotson.
After college graduation I worked in the research laboratories of Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Granville, Ohio. I did analytical work, study of production processes, and experiments in the aerospace division. Graduate school was next and Barbara and I moved back to Louisville and I enrolled in the chemistry graduate program of the University of Louisville. My Ph.D. work was in inorganic chemistry with a dissertation on "The Magnetic Properties and Electronic Structure of Yttrium and Scandium Hydrides".
During my last year in graduate school I taught at a new college in Louisville called Kentucky Southern College. After being contacted by the Academic Dean of Mississippi College I accepted a position in the Chemistry Department here after finishing my graduate work.
