1 Corinthians 6:19, 20
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,
20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

About Me

I received my B.S. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, my M.S. from Louisiana State University and am certified by the American College of Sports Medicine.  I taught elementary, junior high and high school in Hattiesburg, MS before joining the staff at the Institute for Wellness and Sports Medicine.  At IWSM, I managed all aerobic and aquatic programs, as well as, cardiac testing for members and worked in Cardiac Phase III.

After 11 years our family was transferred to Nashville, TN where I managed Fieldstone Farms Swim and Tennis Club.  There I developed a water aerobics program, Masters Swim, Prime Timers for elders and Women on Weights.

Again, my husband's work moved us, this time to Birmingham, AL.  I took a 9 year sabbatical from my profession to respond to a call on my life to be the Executive Director of a non-profit ministry to young men and women in an unplanned pregnancy.  I would never trade that awesome experience yet I am excited about returning to my love for wellness and teaching - it has been the bright stop of this move.

I am married to Floyd Franks (Hotty Totty!) and we live in Ridgeland but still own a home north of Birmingham on Smith Lake.  We have three awesome children:  Chad and his family live in LIttle Rock, AR; Jadee and her family live in Richmond, VA and Floyd, Jr. lives in Raleigh, VA.

I am truly excited about being a part of a higher learning institution that blends Christian values with quality academic programs.
