Welcome to Summer 2014!
Welcome to Mississippi College and the Department of Art. This is an exciting time in the life of our department. Last year we added a second new degree to our program -- the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art (BFA). This follows the addition of the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Degree in Graphic Design in 2012. Also, on Friday, February 8, 2013 we launched our new Department website. You may now locate us at art.mc.edu. Finally, we have several active facebook pages. The Department of Art has a page that can help you stay abreast of news and activities in the department. Also 3 of our programs have active facebook pages for their student chapters. Interior Design (ASID), Graphic Design (AIGA), and Art Education(NAEA) inform and network their programs.
Our enrollment is growing and our students are producing quality work. We have a great art faculty. They are all committed to teaching and at the same time toward perfecting their studio skills. Visit our department and you will see many additions and new faces in our program. Our Interior Design program is now accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). We have several remodeling projects going on in our department this year, including Kenneth M. Quinn Library, and Aven Graduate Computer Lab / Studios. In addition, the Baptist Healthplex and Pimentos Cafe on campus feature the work of MC art students, faculty, and alumni. All of this is the product of growth and continued success in teaching. Please drop by for a visit!

I am a native of Jackson, Mississippi and my wife Vicky is from Carthage. She teaches art at Pearl High School. We have two sons, Matt and Mark. I am proud to say that all four of us hold degrees from Mississippi College. My wife and I currently reside in Clinton and attend First Baptist Church of Clinton.
I presently serve as Chair of the Department of Art and primarily teach courses in art education and art appreciation. My curriculum vita is posted below.
My studio emphasis is in watercolor and the fine craft of papermaking. You are invited to view four of my artworks on my department web page on the Department of Art link to the right.
