Professor Matt Steffey's current research focuses on criminal law, evidence, and constitutional law. He serves as Reporter for the Mississippi Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules, and for the Criminal Code Reform Committee under the Administrative Office of Courts. Professor Steffey currently teaches Criminal Law, Evidence, Admiralty, Law & Literature, and a Supreme Court seminar. He often teaches continuing legal education for groups of lawyers and judges, and frequently appears as a legal analyst in television, radio, print, and web media on a host of contemporary issues. Professor Steffey has served as a volunteer attorney for the client's of the Law School's Mission First legal aid clinic since its inception.
