Growing the Vision
Message from the President
Mississippi College, established in 1826, holds with pride its place both as the oldest university in the state and the largest private university with over
4,600 students studying in a wide array of undergraduate programs, including law school. As a university, Mississippi College seeks to be recognized for
academic excellence and commitment to the cause of Christ, building on a long tradition of scholarship and Christian mission.
In 1831, Mississippi College became the first coeducational college to grant degrees to women. Over these years, MC alumni have distinguished themselves in
many fields of human endeavor. Our impact for good and for the cause of Christ has been truly profound.
As successful as we have been, securing financial support has always been a challenge. Finding funding for higher education is a major concern of public
universities, and it is even more so for private universities. As we launch our campaign, Growing the Vision, we want you to become a part of the vision and
mission of Mississippi College. We must continue to provide the best in scholarships, faculty, facilities, and teaching equipment if we expect to fulfill
our mission.
Your financial support will make the difference in attaining our mission-driven goals. We ask that as you pray about the stewardship of your resources you will
give serious thought to supporting Mississippi College. We know that God has blessed us through the years, and we have confidence that our determination, mission,
and vision are important in His Kingdom.
We thank you for your consideration of support as we seek to accomplish the Grow the Vision campaign of Mississippi College. May God continue to bless you and
to bless the work of Mississippi College.
Lee Royce, President
