International Student Admission
International students are invited to
apply for admission to the University by submitting
a completed admission application form to the International
Center. Questions regarding admission should be directed to

Requirements for admission to the University follow:
A fully completed admission application form
English Requirements – Applicants must meet ONE of the following: Provide an official
score of at least 500 on the paper based Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam, or 173 on the
computer based exam for undergraduate or graduate admission.
Mississippi College considers English language scores from the following tests for admission purposes:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL)
- International English Language Training System(IELTS)
- The Society for Teaching English Proficiency(STEP)
However, International students are required to pass the Mississippi College Institutional English Evaluation Test prior to enrolling in academic classes.
Students not making acceptable scores on the Institutional English Evaluation Test will be required to enroll in the Intensive English Program at the
evaluated level to insure academic success.
The Institutional English Evaluation Test requires proficiency in all areas demanded of non-English speakers; Reading, Writing, Listening and
Speaking.
Transfer from a regionally accredited American college a minimum of 24 hours of academic credit with
a GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 point scale.
A financial statement indicating ability to finance study during one year at Mississippi College with
a notarized sponsor statement. Please contact the International Center to determine the current amount required.
Transcripts of all high school and college grades with literal translations into English. Students attempting to
transfer credits received in secondary degrees or courses completed at universities outside the United States must
send official transcripts to an MC recognized evaluation service. The student must pay for the evaluation.
Transfer students should contact the International Center for details concerning admission requirements.
Students will be required to purchase health insurance each year through the University.
A medical history form, with proof of immunizations, completed and signed by a physician.
An international student who holds and F-1 student visa is required to carry a full course of study in the fall
and spring semesters. A full-time undergraduate course load is twelve credit hours and a graduate course load is nine hours.
All tuition and fees are expected to be paid at the time of registration. Installment payment privileges are not available.
