The Office of Global Education boasts the inaugural Cultural Awareness Week! Through partnerships with the Department of Modern Languages and the Student Government Association, we are excited to showcase the diverse range of cultures we have at Mississippi College. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Friday, March 2, 7pm
Swor Auditorium
International students bring unique cultural backgrounds to Mississippi College, but their artistic talents and skills usually remain hidden. The fifth annual International Festival will give students the chance to share this specific aspect of themselves and their culture with the Mississippi College community. Cultural performances will include instrumental, vocal, and dance exhibitions, as well as a runway show that showcases traditional cultural attire. Mississippi College Cafeteria
As part of Cultural Awareness Week, we will host a "Language Swap" the cafeteria to teach MC students common phrases in a variety of languages. We will teach students common phrases in Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, French, German, and Spanish. If you're eating lunch in the cafeteria on Monday, February 5, stop by one of our tables and learn a new language!

Both international and domestic students will have the opportunity to interact with one another during an international coffee hour which is sponsored by the Office of Global Education and the Department of Modern Languages. We’ll have coffee and dessert and just a relaxed time where students can get to know one another through casual contest. During the International Coffee hour, students will be able to view the top 5 finalists in each category of the Global Perspectives Global Contest, and they will be able to select the winners of each category. Please carefully read the Global Perspectives Photo Contest complete rules and regulations.
GLOBAL Perspectives PHOTO CONTEST

Winners will be selected: March 6
Any international student or student who has traveled abroad may submit up to three photos in the photo contest. The photo contest will have two categories, and the winner of each category will receive $50 cash. Please carefully read the Global Perspectives Photo Contest complete rules and regulations. Alumni Gymnasium
A collaborative program between the Office of Global Education and the Student Government Association, the International Dance will provide an opportunity for domestic students and international students to enjoy one another's company in a social setting. There will be dance lessons at 8:30, and the event will have free food and a DJ. Those who bring a date or friend from another nationality will have their names entered into the drawing for several door prizes, to be given away throughout the dance.
