Law Centers

The International & Comparative Law Center

The Children's Law Center

The Public Service Center

The Bioethics & Health Law Center

e are excited to share information about our Law Centers at Mississippi College School of Law.  Two Centers are now in operation and we have additional Centers that are being developed.  These Law Centers will serve to synthesize the components associated with a practice/ subject area to provide our law students with the opportunity to experience the full realm of academic instruction, theoretical learning, skills training, and practical engagement.

Combining these facets of a practice area into a complementary arrangement will afford our law students an in-depth legal education experience.  This will allow our students to concentrate and focus their legal education in a fashion that will assist them with their transition to practice or to prepare them for additional academic study.  We are confident that students who participate in the program of a Law Center will have a head start on practice!

Integrated into our Legal Centers will be a stimulating mix of the curricular offerings for our classroom instruction, writing and research opportunities, externships for practical experience, outside speakers, external Moot Court competitions for the subject area, focused research materials, and the opportunity to engage with the broader legal community.  Like a jeweler polishing the facets of a gemstone, out students will be able to polish the facets of their legal education.

We are confident that those who want to focus their legal education on the subject areas of one of our Legal Centers will find a challenging and enriching opportunity to learn in an engaging way and to develop knowledge and skills along the full spectrum of the practice.  At the same time we will grow and expand our Law Centers to ensure they remain relevant in this constantly changing global environment.
