The Legal Aid Office was made possible by a generous grant from the Hurst family in tribute to one of Jackson’s leading attorneys, the late Joe Jack Hurst.  Hurst was a proponent of service to the underserved throughout his distinguished career. In furtherance of that commitment, the Hurst family provided the resources to found the Legal Aid Office.
