BancorpSouth Contest Winner Eligible for $5,000 Tuition Check

Students at Mississippi College and other schools in a seven-state region are eligible to win up to $5,000 in tuition in a new contest sponsored by BancorpSouth.

The contest rules are pretty simple. The college students must be at least 18 years old and complete the sweepstakes form on the contest website. There’s no purchase necessary.  Entry forms must be received by the website www.JustRightforWhatever.com by 11:59 pm ET on September 12.

The contest is open to students attending college in the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas or Missouri. A $13.4 billion-asset bank holding company, BancorpSouth operates more than 300 locations in the seven states.

“This is a system wide contest,” said BancorpSouth Jackson/Hinds County President Thomas Darnell, who promoted it during a recent visit to the Mississippi College School of Business. The funds should come in handy for college students with campus costs continuing to rise annually, he added.

“Get a free semester from BancorpSouth,” says one of the new contest brochures.

Mississippi College leaders predict many students at the Clinton-based university and other schools in the region will enter the contest by the September deadline.

A random drawing will be conducted around October 11 and the grand prize of up to $5,000 will be awarded. Students are also eligible to receive another nice prize – an Apple iPad with an approximate retail value of $829. The contest brochure says that prize would be “just right” for students to bank online.

For many years, Tupelo-based BancorpSouth has been a strong supporter of education at all levels, both public and private.
