But God Ministries Director Stan Buckley Addresses Summer 2015 MC Graduation

Rev. Stan Buckley, executive director of But God Ministries, remains passionate about a cause that brings hope, prayers and God’s love to the distressed people of Haiti.

Haiti continues to recover following a devastating January 12, 2010 earthquake. It claimed more than 230,000 lives, injured 300,000 people, impacted 4,992 schools and left many residents of Haiti homeless.

A Mississippi College graduate, Buckley will tell the story of his ministry and bring encouragement to MC’s Class of 2015 as the keynote speaker at the university’s August 1 commencement. His ministry seeks to build sustainable housing to the people of Haiti and bring Jesus into to their hearts.

Buckley served as senior pastor at First Baptist Church Jackson. He is a former Hattiesburg attorney who spoke at the May 2015 graduation for the MC School of Law at First Baptist Church Jackson.

The Mississippian’s Christian ministry in Haiti was detailed in a cover story in MC’s “Beacon” magazine earlier this year.

Commencement ceremonies for Mississippi College undergraduates, graduate students and MC Law students will begin at 10 a.m. that Saturday at the A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Clinton campus.

About 275 MC students will receive diplomas on August 1.
