Justin Graves Leads Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Mississippi College

Justin Graves is the new director of Mississippi College's Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Mississippi College graduate Justin Graves serves as the new leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at his alma mater.

After six years as FCA director at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Graves goes to work on the Clinton campus June 1.

He’s thrilled to share his faith and help mentor more than 400 student-athletes representing 17 NCAA sports at the Baptist-affiliated university.

“When God opened this door to come back to Mississippi College and serve, more than anything, I was humbled,” Graves said. “MC and FCA changed my life. The opportunity to serve MC through FCA is one I’m excited about.’’

Working with Jones Bobcats coaches and athletes was a wonderful experience for Graves. He also helped develop FCA chapters at area high schools at Northeast Jones, South Jones, West Jones, and the Laurel Christian School, among others. “But Jones County Junior College has always been home plate for us.”

A 28-year-old Clinton resident, Graves is a 2010 MC graduate. He majored in Christian Studies and Philosophy and minored in business. Justin is enrolled at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in the master’s of divinity program.

A former West Jones High basketball player, Justin attended Jones County Junior College for a year before enrolling at Mississippi College.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a non-denominational sports ministry that utilizes coaches and athletes to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ. The Christian ministry influences millions of lives around the globe.

Graves has also served with FCA’s inner city program in Jackson. He reached out to student-athletes in the Jackson public schools.

The post opened at Mississippi College when former college FCA directors Justin and Bethany Pigott left to lead FCA programs at the University of Texas in Austin.

Graves always puts family high on his priority list. He and his wife, Casey, have one daughter, Addaleigh, 5, who will become a first grader in August.  Casey Graves is a dental hygienist.

Besides his duties at Mississippi College, Justin Graves hopes to build FCA chapters at high schools in metro Jackson.
