MC Equestrian Team Showcase Set for March 27

Mississippi College's equestrian team will welcome student prospects at an open house at Providence Hill Farm on March 27.

The "showcase" at the beautiful 2,000-acre farm will be from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Located about 20 minutes from the Clinton campus, Providence Hill Farm is headquarters for the MC equestrian team. The MC Choctaws are winding up their third season with horse competition across state lines around the South.

The event at Providence Hill Farm will immediately follow MC's annual Spring Preview Day for hundreds of prospective MC students on the Clinton campus beginning at 8 a.m. President Lee Royce will be among the speakers that morning. Parents and other family members are invited, too.

Campus tours and visits with MC faculty, staff and student leaders will be on the agenda for Preview Day. Prospective students will also get the chance to attend classes. Lunch will be served.

Jamie Martin, owner of Providence Hill Farm, and adviser to the MC equestrian team, is asking supporters of her favorite squad to spread the word about Saturday's activities at her spacious facility. She's asking folks to spread the word to groups such as 4-H and the Barrel Racing Association. The event is designed for anybody interested in the MC equestrian program.

MC provides such things as horses, coaching, practice and entry fees to students participating on the equestrian team.
