MC to hold Summer Commencement on August 4, 2007

Mississippi College will award degrees to nearly 200 students at its summer commencement August 4.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Clinton campus. Madison County District 3 Supervisor Andy Taggart will speak to the graduates. Taggart, an attorney, and his wife, Karen, are MC graduates. Their son, Rob, 19, a Madison Central High graduate, will be a freshman at MC when fall classes begin Aug. 22. Taggart is a former student body president at MC. The Madison resident is former chief of staff to the late Gov. Kirk Fordice.

Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, MC's director of career services, will deliver the invocation. Eric Pratt, vice president for Christian Development, will give the benediction at next month's graduation.
