Megan Pritchett Joins Mississippi College Staff as Registrar

Megan Pritchett

Serving as Mississippi College’s new registrar will be quite a blessing for Megan Pritchett.

A 2003 MC graduate, Pritchett goes to work at her alma mater in Clinton on June 1. The former admissions director at Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, she’s delighted to join the staff at the 5,100-student Christian university.

“It will be a great change being in a Christian environment,” says Pritchett, a Jackson native. “It’s really great to be in an environment where Christ is first.”

An MC graphic design major, Pritchett brings extensive experience in marketing, advertising and at a church before working at the 10,000-student community college in Central Arkansas. She also served as associate registrar at the two-year school.

The Mississippi College registrar’s office handles a variety of vital services, including the collection of academic records, the release of transcripts and recording student enrollment numbers year-round.

Staffers at the busy office in Nelson Hall work closely with MC students from the minute they enroll though the time they receive their diplomas, Pritchett noted. Staffers also interact with faculty regarding changes in students’ class schedules.

Pritchett and her husband, Aaron, are the parents of two children, Nathan, 9, and Jacob, 7. Presently living in Southaven, the family will soon pack the car for the move to Rankin County in late May. Aaron Pritchett works as an administrator in fleet management. In addition, the Liberty University aeronautics graduate (and former MC student), Aaron pilots small airplanes.

A 1999 Jackson Prep graduate, Megan Pritchett earned a master’s in operations management at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She intends to begin work on her doctorate once her children get a little older.

Higher education runs in the family. Megan is the daughter of Pete and Linda Walley of Brandon. Pete Walley served on the staff of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning for more than 20 years. The Jackson-based agency is better known as the state College Board.

Friends knew her as Megan Walley during her first two years as an MC undergraduate. She got married at the start of her junior year. Megan was active in two social tribes on the Clinton campus. Getting to see familiar faces on the faculty and staff and making new friends here will be a real joy, the new MC registrar said.
