Mississippi Business Journal Salutes Clare Agostinelli

Clare Agostinelli

Clarksdale native Clare Agostinelli is winning kudos for her work as assistant director at the Mississippi College Office of Career Services.

The “Mississippi Business Journal” recently named Agostinelli  one of the Magnolia State’s 50 Leading Business Women for the class of 2010.

The statewide magazine will spotlight Agostinelli and others around the state during events August 18-19 at the Eagle Ridge Conference Center, part of Hinds Community College in Raymond. Events will include an awards luncheon and networking sessions at the Hinds facility. There’s also a dinner planned for the award winners at the Fairview Inn in Jackson.

“It’s definitely an honor to be nominated among these women,” said Agostinelli, who this summer began working on her master’s in business administration at MC.  She expects to complete her MBA in two years.  Agostinelli says she looks forward to the networking sessions with other women from around the state in August.

A Mississippi State University graduate, Agostinelli worked for three years as a college recruiter with the Horne LLP accounting firm in Jackson before coming to MC in December 2009. The Jackson resident serves as a volunteer at the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

At Horne, LLP, Agostinelli led a 15-campus college recruiting program. At Horne LLP from 2006 to 2009, she built a strong relationship with the MC School of Business and the Christian university’s career services office.

Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, MC’s director of retention and career services, is among the MC leaders delighted to learn about the new award for Agostinelli. Hayley Taff and Agostinelli serve as the two assistant directors under Lindsey-Lloyd’s leadership at the MC administration building. The office in Nelson Hall helps students and a growing number of recent MC alumni during America’s economic downturn.

Agostinelli has worked in other positions, including marketing officer and human resources project coordinator at Trustmark National Bank in Jackson. She received her bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude in business administration and marketing from Mississippi State in 2002.

The Mississippi Business Journal has saluted other extraordinary Mississippi College women in recent years. Named to its list of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women for 2009 was Debbie Norris, vice president for planning and assessment and the university’s graduate school dean. MC School of Nursing Dean Mary Jean Padgett was selected for the magazine’s list for its Class of 2008.
