Mississippi College Hosts Healthcare Summit

Congressman Gregg Harper of Pearl will be among the speakers at the October 13 Healthcare Summit.

America’s $3 trillion healthcare industry continues to escalate. Despite the federal Affordable Health Care Act, many Americans remain uninsured.

Topics like these will be discussed at Mississippi College’s Healthcare Summit on the Clinton campus on October 13.

The 6th annual event runs from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. that Tuesday at Anderson Hall. Sharing their views will be a number of national healthcare experts. Key state leaders in government and business circles are coming, too.

The Mississippi Business Group on Health and the Mississippi College School of Business are teaming to serve as the summit sponsors.

In the lineup of speakers: 4th District U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper, who is serving his 4th term on Capitol Hill. The MC graduate and Pearl resident was first elected to Congress in November 2008.

Other speakers in the lineup: Ed Hagar, manager of compensation and benefits with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Timothy Moore, president & CEO of the Mississippi Hospital Association and Dr. Scott E. Conrad, corporate healthcare strategist with Converging Health.
