Mississippi College Hosts New Student Orientation


Mississippi College leaders will be out in full force when the university hosts an orientation session for new students August 3.

President Lee Royce will be among the parade of speakers at the event that begins with check-in at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the B.C. Rogers Student Center. The meeting is designed for incoming freshmen, transfer students and parents.

Others making remarks will include Jim Turcotte, vice president of enrollment management and student affairs, Kyle Brantley, interim director of admissions, Rick Hartfield, director of student life, and Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, director of retention and career services. Vice President for Academic Affairs Ron Howard and Chad Phillips, executive director of enrollment services, will round out the roster of speakers.

A question and answer session with parents at 9:30 a.m. plus registration information will be another feature of the mini orientation. The fall’s evening classes begin August 23 with day classes to start Aug. 25.
