Mississippi College Hosts Teacher Workshops
Mississippi College's Office of Continuing Education is sponsoring two workshops for metro Jackson teachers in early 2010.
The workshops will focus on integrating reading strategies into content areas across the curriculum. Teachers from area middle and high schools will share their ideas. Mississippi College School of Education professors will lead the sessions.
The first workshop is set for Jan. 23. It is reading in the content area - math and science. The second session on Feb. 6 is entitled reading in the content area - language arts and social studies.
The registration deadline is Jan. 18. Lunch is provided and each workshop is eligible for .5 continuing education units. The purpose is to excite learners to become more proficient learners.
