Mississippi College Registration Stays on Track

Mississippi College's Accelerated Degree Program registration tonight and similar sessions for new students Friday morning will stay on track despite the region's frigid winter weather.

ADP registration is set for 5:30 p.m. this evening at Self Hall on the Clinton campus. ADP programs include accounting, business administration, marketing, public relations and sociology.

Mississippi College's spring registration and orientation for new students will begin 8 a.m. Friday and run through noon. The sessions will be held at Anderson Hall on the second floor of the B.C. Rogers Student Center.

For the latest weather information, check with Mississippi Public Broadcasting and other area media. Any major weather-related updates related to Mississippi College will also be posted on MC's university Web site at www.mc.edu. MC's spring semester classes are due to begin Monday Jan. 11.

MPB serves as the designated communications outlet for the Magnolia State during states of emergency. Gov. Haley Barbour has declared a state of emergency in advance of the severe winter weather. Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties are under a hard-freeze watch through Sunday morning.

"MPB's goal is not only to keep all Mississippians informed of potential danger during emergencies, but ultimately to keep all Mississippians safe," says MPB executive director Judy Lewis, a former MC communications professor.
