Pastor Rob Futral Speaks to Who’s Who Luncheon at Mississippi College

Pastor Rob Futral of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison will serve as the keynote speaker at an annual luncheon saluting student leaders at Mississippi College.

Futral returns to his alma mater on December 5 for a program to showcase 79 MC students being inducted into Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. The program that Friday begins at 11:30 a.m. at Anderson Hall with scores of parents on hand to join the students.

Created in 1934, the prestigious national honor society operates chapters at more than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

A Texas native who grew up in the Lone Star State and Mississippi, Futral has led Broadmoor Baptist Church since 2003. His family came to the Jackson area when his father, Jim Futral, became Broadmoor’s pastor in 1985.

Jim Futral presently serves as executive director-treasurer of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board in Jackson.

Rob Futral earned his bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies at Mississippi College, his master of divinity in Biblical Languages and doctor of philosophy in New Testament and Greek from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kimandria, are the parents of three children, Trea, Ridge and Rivers.

Futral was named Mississippi College’s Young Alumnus of the Year in 2010. In 2012, he penned his first book “The Greatest Week in History,’’ a study of Luke’s account of the Passion Week. The MC graduate remains active in church missions in Mexico, England, Russia, Nicaragua, Southeast Asia and Haiti, to name a few of the spots around the globe.

“Rob Futral represents the best in one of our Mississippi College graduates,” says Jim Turcotte, vice president for enrollment services and dean of students.

This latest crop of “Who’s Who” inductees at MC, he said, includes “79 of our best and brightest students.”
