Preparations Underway for MC Career Day

Recruiters from hospitals, school districts, accounting firms and scores of other Mississippi companies are coming to Mississippi College for Career Day in the new year.

Preparations are already being made for the event to be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. For the first time ever, Career Day is booked at Anderson Hall instead of the MC Coliseum. The program will begin with "Project Career Day Runway" a fashion event to help students see what they should wear to interview.

Throughout the day on the Clinton campus, students and alumni can take advantage of rapid resume reviews and interview coaching with faculty, staff and employers. Students, alumni and employers will also have an opportunity to meet MC President Lee Royce who will be on hand to greet Career Day attendees after lunch.

"We are excited about our new location in Anderson Hall, that puts us in the center of campus this year," said Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, director of Career Services. "Besides a great variety of employers and industries we'll have useful on site services for student and alumni who attend."

MC leaders expect 70 or more organizations will be on hand at the event in the B.C. Rogers Student Center. "We will also feature MC's graduate and professional schools for students who plan to continue their education," she said.

The fee for employers is $100 and school districts can participate for free. Employers are encouraged to go to http://www.mc.edu/career/careerdayreg.php to register now!
