School of Business Honors Howard Industries Executive

Mississippi College School of Business leaders will honor Howard Industries executive Michael Howard at a luncheon on the Clinton campus April 20.

An MC graduate, Howard has served as president of the company's transformer divisions since 1998.

During his visit, Howard will receive the 2010 Executive Excellence Award. He's also coming to the Clinton campus to deliver a speech to MC business students who will be honored that Tuesday at Anderson Hall.

"His contributions to his company, Howard Industries, and his community represent the type of business leader we want our students to become," says Marcelo Eduardo, dean of the School of Business.

His remarks "will give our business students a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from a business executive with one of Mississippi's largest and most well-established organizations," Eduardo added.

Based in Laurel, Howard Industries produces a wide range of products and services for global markets, including distribution and power products for utilities and commercial/industrial customers. Among other things, the Mississippi company provides medical technology products for hospitals and clinics, and industrial and commercial lighting products.

Howard serves on the MC School of Business Advisory Board, the MC Foundation Board and the Boy Scouts Pine Belt Advisory Board. He's a member of the board of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association. Howard received his bachelor's degree in business administration at MC.
