The December 2 event at Anderson Hall in the B.C. Rogers Student Center begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. that Friday.

Falvey received his bachelor’s in religious education from Mississippi College in 1985. He’s served as senior pastor at First Baptist Church Madison since May 2008.

The Mississippian earned his master of divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999. His doctorate in the field of educational leadership came from the same New Orleans institution in 2012.

Falvey remains very active in the Mississippi Baptist Convention where he’s served on the Board of Ministerial Education for six years and as president his final year. He serves as a Mississippi College trustee.

Dr. Falvey and his wife, Martha, a 1985 Mississippi College graduate, have been married for 28 years. They are the parents of two children, Catherine and Will.

President Lee Royce will award certificates to 100 MC students at the honor society’s induction ceremony. Serving more than 1,000 institutions in all 50 states, the “Who’s Who” group was founded by a University of Alabama student in 1934.

Mississippi College leaders are delighted to spotlight another solid group of nominees, said Jim Turcotte, vice president for enrollment services and dean of students.

Members of the Student Activities and Services Committee make the Christian university’s selections each year. Members weigh their decisions based on student scholarship, participation in academic and extracurricular activities, leadership skills and loyalty to the ideals of Mississippi College.

MC’s newest inductees in early December come from states including Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Connecticut, Kansas and Ohio and countries as far away as Indonesia.
