MC Singers

Fans of the Mississippi College Singers are in for a treat – a spring concert tour taking the talented group to nine cities in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.

The MC Singers will depart from the Clinton campus Sunday April 7. The choir’s musical repertoire covers a period spanning 400 years and they are expected to entertain audiences with plenty of their favorite selections on stage.

The concert series begins when the singers perform on April 7 at morning worship services at First Baptist Church in Columbia, MS. The group will stay in south Mississippi for an evening worship concert at First United Methodist Church in Laurel.

The next morning, April 8, the MC Singers are booked at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, and travel across state lines that evening for a concert at Moffet Road Baptist Church in Mobile.

Directed by MC Music Department Chairman Jamie Meaders, the 55-member group hits the road again for two more concerts on April 9. In the morning, they will appear at Montgomery Academy and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Alabama. That evening, the singers perform at Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

Other show dates include:

-The morning of April 10 at Tupelo High School and that Wednesday evening at First Baptist Church in Memphis.

-The morning of April 11 at Overton High School in Memphis.

-The group’s final spring concert on April 14 at Northside Baptist Church in Clinton. The concert that Sunday night begins at 7 p.m. It’s free.

Over the years, the award-winning MC Singers have performed on stages from New York City to cities in Europe and South Africa.
