Summer Campers Return to Mississippi College

The campers are coming! The very first one begins May 28 - the Super Hoops Team Camp. High school coaches from across the Magnolia State bring their teams for Thursday, Friday and Saturday games and drills at A.E. Wood Coliseum.

The basketball camp is just the start of the action. On June 1, Centri-Fuge and MissionFuge, UCA-cheerleader camp, and baseball camp get cranked up.

As director of MC continuing education, Ken Gilliam has run the camps here since 1998. He expects nearly 10,000 campers will visit the Clinton campus through late July. The campers typically come from about 14 Southern states. Decades ago, Gilliam was a summer camp kid in Arkansas.

Some of the summer campers end up becoming MC students.
