Summer Missions Banquet at Mississippi College Set for Feb. 26

Mississippi College Baptist Student Union summer missionaries will travel to Malaysia, the Philippines, Africa, California and other locations around the globe.

To help pay for their mission trips and offer prayers of encouragement, members of the BSU on the Clinton campus have booked a banquet Feb. 26 at Anderson Hall.

About 175 guests, primarily family members, are expected to attend. The Friday evening event begins at 7 p.m. The BSU women's singing group "Surrender" will provide the entertainment for the program at the B.C. Rogers Student Center.

In a few months, there will be 27 BSU summer missionaries from Mississippi College going all over the world, says Heidi Cheatham, the BSU associate director at the Christian university. "The banquet is a fundraiser to take care of part of the cost of living for students who will be serving in the field."

Orientation for summer missionary students from Mississippi College and other schools across the Magnolia State will be held in April.

Tickets for Friday's banquet cost $25 each. For details, contact Brenda Holloway at 601.925.3238 or holloway@mc.edu or Heidi Cheatham at Cheatham@mc.edu or 601.925.3830.
