Senate is the legislative branch of SGA. It is made up of nine senators from each class, all four class presidents, two international senators, and two transfer senators. The purpose of Senate is to be a voice to administration. We write bills pertaining to campus improvement, and use discernment to vote on these bills each week. Senate is a great way to be involved and to make a difference on campus.
As Vice-President, my goal is to make whatever we do in Senate meaningful. Whether it is adding more light poles to a parking lot, completely changing an on-campus restaurant, or making advising a better experience for students, I want everything that is done to have a lasting impact, and for senators to have an opportunity to serve our campus.
Senate elections take place each spring, and freshmen senate elections take place at the beginning of each fall semester. Senators serve for a full year.
