Judicial Information
No student arrives at Mississippi College with the aim of finding oneself involved in the Student Judicial Process. The thought can be quite unsettling. At the outset of every academic year, our hope is that no studentwill breach the Student Code. However, experience teaches us that some students will err and ultimately find themselves trying to navigate the Student Judicial Process. This guide is designed to help you understandthis process, what you can expect and what is expected of you.
At Mississippi College, the faculty, administration, and Student Government cooperate in the Student Judicial Process. Student participation in the process is by allowance and not a delegation of ultimate authority or responsibility. The involvement of students in the Student Judicial Process is aimed at, when possible, allowing students to be “judged” by their peers, according to and by the rules, regulations, standards and ideals of Mississippi College. It is hoped that students can exercise “self discipline” to the fullest extent possible.
What follows is not a complete explanation of the Student Judicial Process (which can be found on the MC Homepage under “Campus Life” and “Student Publications”), but it outlines the procedures and terms of the process. If you have questions that cannot be answered by consulting this guide, please contact us in Student Development.
