Lead New Students

The New Student Leadership Team is comprised of three groups:

Each group will play a special role in welcoming new students to Mississippi College. Currently enrolled students will be interviewed for each group and chosen based on their experience, leadership skills, and commitment to the cause of Christ.

Blue & Gold 101 Mentors

Blue & Gold 101 Mentors hold a vital position in the lives of Freshmen at MC. A Mentor serves as a source of information and direction for new students to help them successfully find their social and academic place at MC. Mentors are chosen to represent a commitment to the cause of Christ and provide a meaningful, fun experience for incoming freshman. See full job description here.

Orientation Leaders

The Orientation Leader (OL) is an integral member of the Office of Admissions staff. The OL works all freshman and transfer orientations hosted by the Office of Admissions. The OL will lead orientation small groups, provide guidance to incoming students from a current student’s prospective, administer campus tours, and stay overnight in the residence halls throughout all orientations. MC Experience Team

The MC Experience Team is a group of students who will commit their time and energy into planning events and activities during Mississippi College’s Welcome Week. This position will assist incoming freshman and transfer students in the transition to Mississippi College with group activities to promote positive interaction among new students.  See full job description here.

How to apply

  1. Download this application and have it filled out and turned into the Admissions Office by noon on Wednesday March 28th, 2012. 
  2. You are required to choose two individuals to complete this reference form. At least one reference must be from a Mississippi College faculty/staff member if you would like to apply.
  3. Sign up for a Personal Interview time and a Group Interview time in the Admissions Office.

Time Commitment

All new Student Leaders will be required to attend a week long training session in May. Additional commitments may be required based on your New Student Leadership role if selected, please check your desired position job description for more information. 

If you are interested in multiple positions due to time commitments you can either be an Orientation Leader and a MC Experience Coordinator or a Blue & Gold 101 Mentor. You will be unable to be an MC Experience Coordinator and Blue & Gold 101 Mentor. (If you are a Resident Assistant you will be unable to serve as a MC Experience Coordinator or Blue & Gold 101 Mentor.)
