STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM
Mainz Exchange Program
This program dates from 1960, making it the oldest study abroad opportunity
offered by the University. The program involves an exchange of students
between Mississippi College and the Johannes Gutenberg University in
Mainz, Germany. M.C. offers a full scholarship to a student from the
German university. The German University provides the M.C. student
with tuition and a stipend which covers room and board. Students who
wish to apply for this Study Abroad Program must have completed the
intermediate level of German.
Exchange students remain at the respective universities for two semesters.
Students from M.C. usually continue their study of German while in
Mainz, but are invited to enroll for credit or to audit courses in
other disciplines as well.
University students in Germany enjoy a two-month break between semesters.
This break gives the M.C. student time to travel extensively in other
parts of Europe.
