SPRING BREAK TRIP 2007
London and Scotland

Spring Break Trip 2004 GroupThis year’s Spring Break trip will combine time in one of the great European capitols--London-- with the wonderful sites of Scotland. Open to both students and members of the community, the trip will spend four days in London and four days in Scotland.

While in Britain, the tour will see the highlights of London, including Westminster Abby, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Big Ben. Also included are optional trips to Portobello Road, the National Gallery, and the Tower of London. London also offers the finest theatre productions available. A special side trip will be a Sunday afternoon excursion to Oxford University, one of the most famous universities in the world.

In Scotland, the group will also visit Minster, seat of the Archbishop of York, where ancient glass, wonderful architecture, exciting sculpture and historic treasures come together. The group will visit the cities of York and Edinburgh. Although much is planned, the group will have free time to enjoy specific interests.

In connection with the trip, Mississippi College is offering the following classes:

  • HIS 102: Western Civilization
  • HIS 401/5401: History of Scotland
  • ECO 131: The American Economic System
  • GBU 493/5493: The European Union
  • PED 108 Fitness Walking

Students who enroll for credit will meet once a week before the trip and will engage in independent reading and research to fulfill class requirements. All participants are invited to the weekly meetings prior to the trip.
