Robinson-Hale
Stadium, with a seating capacity of 8,500, was opened during the 1985 season.
The first game ever in the facility saw the Choctaws blasting Jacksonville State
50-3. Two weeks later, the stadium was dedicated during the Chocs 14-7 win over
Livingston University.
The
stadium honors two men who helped establish Mississippi College football tradition,
Stanley L. Robinson and Edwin "Goat" Hale. Robinson gave 36 years
of service to MC as head coach and athletic director. A football legend, Hale
was an outstanding offensive back for the Choctaws and became the first back
in Mississippi collegiate sports history to be named to the National Football
Foundation Hall of Fame.
