Sookmyung International Summer School is hosted each summer by Sookmyung Women’s University in the metropolis of Seoul, South Korea. This three-week summer study program invites male and female students from universities around the world to attend up to two college courses during the program. The courses are all taught in English by invited professors from Sookmyung’s partner universities around the world. Classes meet during the week; weekends involve cultural excursions.

Seoul
Seoul, a vast city of approximately 10 million people, has been the capital of South Korea for over 600 years. It is one of the most “digitally wired” cities today due to its population density. South Koreans enjoy a fairly high standard of living, though it is still considered a developing nation. Seoul is a charming mix of the old and the new with ancient palaces, temples, gates, and museums of ancient artifacts juxtaposed against skyscrapers, innumerable restaurants, department stores, art galleries, street markets, parks, and Christian churches.
